Membership Drive

Membership campaign developed by MSU Alumni Association Executive Director Keith Williams and his staff requires immediate attention. Apparently, membership in the MSU Alumni Association, which includes constituent association and regional clubs, ranks last among Big Ten universities. The goal that has been set by MSUAA for all college associations is a 50 percent increase in new memberships. I believe that this goal is attainable provided we aggressively network within our regions to promote the benefits of joining the MSU Alumni Association and our constituent association, the College of Education Alumni Association.

The benefits of membership are numerous. First and foremost, when you designate the College of Education as your constituent group, you become re-connected with your college and with its current students. We also use some of our membership dues to provide scholarships for students. Thus your membership is helping a new generation of MSU students realize their dreams of careers in education.

In addition, advantages of membership include:

  • Continued affiliation with a great university and top-ranked college
  • Subscription to the MSU Alumni Magazine and The New Educator
  • Insurance plans
  • Discounts for car rentals, hotel reservations, athletic events, campus parking,
  • Spartan merchandise, student book store purchases, Kellogg Center activities, Forest Akers Golf Club green fees, etc.
  • Alumni Association Regional Club and Constituent Association special events
  • Basketball priority seating points
  • Wharton Center priority seating
  • Inside Newsletter, and more

If you currently are not a member of the Alumni Association (and the College of Education Alumni Association), please give serious consideration to joining. If you are a member, please network among your friends and colleagues to encourage membership.
