2006 Exemplary Research in Social Studies Award

Jere Brophy, a University Distinguished Professor of teacher education and educational psychology, and Janet Alleman, a professor of teacher education and K-12 educational administration at Michigan State University’s College of Education were winners of the 2006 Exemplary Research in Social Studies Award. They received the prestigious national award for their book, Children’s Thinking About Cultural Universals, at the 86th annual conference of the National Council for the Social Studies. The conference was held at the Renaissance Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 1-3.
