Semesters Offered: Fall/Spring

Duties: Teaching duties of KIN 121, “The Healthy Lifestyle.”  This course is a service course open to all university students and is a required course for all KIN majors.  The instructor is responsible for (1) preparing lectures, (2) planning and conducting laboratories.

Supervising Faculty: Dr. Jim Pivarnik

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience as intern in KIN 121 or equivalent.
2. Experience in large group lecture, laboratory, and testing.
3. Experience leading group exercise. 
4. Must maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications.
5. Masters in Kinesiology

Orientation and Training: Graduate assistants are required to attend orientation prior to the start of fall semester that includes participation in the All-University TA program.  Staff development activities include participation in in-service workshops as well as policy staff meetings throughout the academic year.

Mentoring and Monitoring: Graduate assistants are observed and evaluated at least once each semester.  Written and verbal feedback is provided after each observation.  Copies of the written evaluation, course materials, and SIRS are kept in the graduate assistant’s file.
