Semesters Offered: Fall/Spring
Duties: Teaching duties of KIN 202, “Aerobic Exercise Instruction.” This course is a service course open to all university students. The instructor is responsible for (1) preparing and presenting lectures (2) planning and conducting laboratories (3) verifying certification qualifications (4) providing feedback to students relative to teaching skills and knowledge. Teaching assistants selected for this course will receive initial and ongoing staff development under guidance of faculty members to assist in teaching this course.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Experience as intern in KIN 202 or equivalent.
2. Experience in aerobic exercise instruction.
3. Current ACE, AFFA, or ACSM certification.
4. Current CPR and FA certification.
5. Experience in methods of teaching.
Orientation and Training: Graduate assistants are required to attend orientation prior to the start of fall semester that includes participation in the All-University TA program. Staff development activities include participation in in-service workshops as well as policy staff meetings throughout the academic year.
Mentoring and Monitoring: Graduate assistants are observed and evaluated at least once each semester. Written and verbal feedback is provided after each observation. Copies of the written evaluation, course materials, and SIRS are kept in the graduate assistant’s file.
