2007-2008: Clinical Professor of School Level Leadership
The Department of Educational Administration at Michigan State University is searching for an educational professional with experience developing school leaders to join its faculty as a Clinical Professor of School Level Leadership at the university rank of Assistant Professor. This is a non-tenure track, renewable position that provides a full time appointment in the Department. Appointment begins August 2008. Salary and benefits are competitive.

The Clinical Professor will collaborate with faculty in the EAD Department and College to design and implement a principal’s induction initiative that supports new school principals in Michigan and to deliver a high quality masters degree in K-12 Leadership.

Responsibilities will include development and implementation of the induction initiative, outreach work with faculty and the College’s Outreach Center to cultivate strong relationships between the Department, K-12 educational leaders and K-12 professional associations around the state, and teaching masters level courses.

The Department is part of a top ranked College that offers faculty opportunities to work with initiatives addressing issues in urban education, educational leadership, educational policy, international education and many other fields. It houses an Educational Policy Center and a dynamic Outreach Center that work with K-12 leaders and policy makers in the state and nationally.

Qualifications: To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience with K-12 leadership initiatives, experience developing and delivering professional development to school level leaders and an earned doctorate. A record of effective school leadership is strongly preferred as is knowledge of leadership development centers around the nation. Familiarity with online learning environments and skills for successful grant writing are desirable.
