Good news. Irish Construction Company plans to be finished with the first phase of the Erickson addition by November 15 and they will be turning over the space to the university. The fence will be coming down. Handicapped spaces will be moved back to the circle drive and the gate on the parking lot in front of Erickson will be operational. We should be able to move research projects into the new space in December.
Phase 2 will begin next spring, after commencement. In that phase they will work on the front canopy and sidewalk-main entrance, and complete the landscaping.
We are very excited about gaining the new space which will help relieve some of the space crunches throughout the building. Research faculty should respond to the dean's e-mail of October 6 if you wish to request research project space in the addition (by November 1 please)--or please contact Eric Mulvany or me if you have questions.
