There are two programs offered at the graduate level as stated below. All graduate level courses are offered via a combination of web-based, video conference, and phone/video-phone technologies. As such, students are required to have access to appropriate technologies and the internet.
(30 credits minimum including transfer 6-9 credits from internship year in MSU's Deaf Education teacher preparation program; successful completion of a certifying exam). Students enter the program already having teaching certification in elementary or secondary education and deaf education. There are two areas of specialization for the M.A. only program: Math/Science and Parent Infant.
Deaf Education: M.A. + Deaf Education Endorsement
(60-63 credits minimum; successful completion of a certifying exam). Students enter program already having teaching certification in elementary or secondary education. Course of study includes a combination of one of the above emphases (Math/Science or Parent Infant) plus additional deaf education endorsement courses as determined and approved by Program faculty after consultation with student and review of appropriate documentation.
