Anna Neumann (Teachers College, Columbia
University)
November 1-2, 2000
Anna
Neumann's research and teaching interests include scholarly learning and
development across the lifespan with attention to professors' careers,
teaching and learning in universities and colleges, academic women's
learning and lives, the development of researchers, and autobiography in
research. She is completing a study, funded by the Spencer Foundation's
Major Grants Program, of early midcareer professors' scholarly learning and
development. Neumann is currently initiating a classroom-based study of
undergraduate teaching and learning, and a study of professors' learning of
interdisciplinarity. Recent writings have focused on professors' learning in
interdisciplinary settings, aesthetic dimensions of scholarly learning, and
doctoral students' learning of research in education and the social
sciences. To go to Anna's professional web site,
