Since 1995, the college has hosted the Crystal Apple Awards Dinner during which time donors to the college personally have recognized educators who have made a difference.  The opportunity to select a recipient of the Crystal Apple Award is a benefit to members of the College of Education Leadership Circle who financially support the college with annual gifts of $1,500 or more. Groups of individuals, who wish to pool their funds, are also welcome to honor a recipient with the Crystal Apple Award.  

The College of Education Crystal Apple Award is a way to honor an educator as being representative of excellence and commitment. Teachers, professors, administrators, and counselors - active, retired or deceased - currently or previously employed in a learning community, from preschool through the university level, are eligible to receive the award. Honorees need not be affiliated with Michigan State University. 

The 2008 Crystal Apple honorees will be recognized at the Crystal Apple Awards Dinner to be held on November 14, 2008 at the Kellogg Center.
