Ric Wiltse

 

Since 1999, Ric has been the Executive Director for the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL). He served 25 years in K-12 education as a building and district level media specialist, and most recently, the Director of Technology for the East Grand Rapids Public Schools from 1992-1998.

 

In his position with MACUL, Ric has led many state-wide projects including the Governor’s NextDay Grant program, the ATA Technology Academy, the AT&T Student Technology Showcase, the Student Technology Achievement Recognition program, the Intel Teach to the Future program in Michigan, the Technology for Authentic Problem Solving program and the MTIP Center for Awareness & Dissemination.  As MACUL Executive Director, he also coordinates the annual MACUL conference, the Upper Peninsula Business & Technology Educator’s Conference and the Educational Technology Coordinator’s Conference.   In the fall of 2004, Ric organized the Coalition for Online Professional development in Education to offer online courses to Michigan educators.

 

Ric earned degrees from Central Michigan University (BS in Ed.) and Western Michigan University (Masters in Librarianship), and has received awards for h0pt'> 

Ric earned degrees from Central Michigan University (BS in Ed.) and Western Michigan University (Masters in Librarianship), and has received awards for his work in media and technology from Business Week Magazine, the Michigan Association for Media in Education (MAME), and the Center for Digital Education. Ric is a fellow in the Institute for Educational Leadership’s Educational Policy Fellowship Program and serves on the Affiliate Executive Committee for the International Society for Technology in Education.
