BIO – David P. Seitz

 

David graduated with highest distinction from the University of Michigan where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  David earned his degree in Political Science and specialized in legislative process theory and American political party dynamics.  While attending the University, David completed an internship in the Washington D.C. Office of Governor John Engler, where he helped with education legislation pertinent to Michigan and dovetailed a strategy to lobby the Michigan Congressional Delegation on the renewal of China’s Most Favored Nation status. After graduation, David moved to Washington, D.C. to work on the congressional staff of U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI).

 

After leaving the staff of Senator Abraham, David was a legislative analyst at Brustein & Manasevit, a nationally recognized education policy law firm in Washington, D.C.  In 1999, David returned to Michigan to join the Michigan House Republican Policy Office as the education policy advisor.  He has since held the positions of Senior Policy Advisor, and Budget Director for the House Speaker and Republican caucus.  Most recently, David was the Deputy Policy Director for House Speaker Rick Johnson where he coordinated the Speaker’s budget strategies and developed long and short-term strategic policy initiatives for the Speaker and the caucus.  For the past four years, David also concentrated on creating and implementing the Freedom To Learn program, which seeks to utilize wireless technology to provide one-to-one learning environments for every child in the state of Michigan.

 

David has just started a new position with Apple Computers Inc., where he will work on strategic initiatives focusing on implementing the vision of one-to-one learning in Michigan and across the country.
