A. Hamilton Ed.D.
Dr. Bill Hamilton
is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, K-12 with the Walled
Lake Consolidated Schools. The Walled
Lake Schools serve over 15,000 students in 22 schools; the largest school
district in Oakland County,
MI. Among his many responsibilities, Bill is
responsible for all technology initiatives.
His credits in technology prior to joining the Walled Lake team included
the decentralization of technology in the Westwood School District and the project
management and curriculum integration of the technology system in the
Northville School District for which he was awarded the first annual Great Lake
Governor’s award. His current efforts in
Walled Lake include the integration of technology into the curriculum, the use
of technology to align subject area benchmarks to a quarterly system of common
metric assessments, the implementation of a technology leasing program, the
management of a state-of-the-art
interactive Voice, Video, Data fiber network, the introduction of Novell and
Cisco courses at Walled Lake Central High School and related student internship
program, a federally funded Math/Science technology curriculum integration
project that ran at Walled Lake Western and Walled Lake Central High School in
collaboration with the Indianapolis and Chicago public schools, and the
innovative Anytime Anywhere Learning laptop program.
In addition,
Bill has been awarded a contract from the Michigan
Virtual University
to deliver administrative workshops to all Michigan “Freedom to Learn” school districts. The workshops focus on how to successfully
implement a laptop program. Dr. Hamilton
consults on technology integration, curriculum and assessment, and teacher
evaluation/professional development systems.
