Dan Schultz is a consultant who works with local, state and national organizations to promote effective leadership and the intelligent use of information and technology. He is currently working with the Michigan Virtual University and Michigan State University's College of Education. He is also Senior Associate for Technology with the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington D.C.

E-mail: dws@msu.eduDan served in key management and policy roles at the Michigan Department of Education where he was assistant state superintendent and director of technology and grants. He coordinated state and federal grant programs for the State Board of Education and provided leadership for the Department's technology planning and policy initiatives. He worked with the Governor's Office and other state agencies to help create a statewide voice, video and data communications network. As Executive Director of The Primary Sources Network he provided leadership for a public/private partnership funded by a US Department of Education, Technology Innovation Challenge Grant. Dan has also served as an elected trustee on a school district board of education.
He has been a featured speaker at numerous state, national and international conferences and has lectured and led seminars for the Colleges of Education and Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University, and the Schools of Education at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Arizona State University. His teaching experience includes an adjunct faculty appointment at Western Michigan University.
Dan earned a B.A. in Economics from Adrian College (MI), an M.A. in Education Administration from Michigan State University and completed his doctoral coursework in Educational Psychology, also at Michigan State University. He is the recipient of the Institute for Educational Leadership's National Leadership Award and the Michigan State University College of Education Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Award.

Chris Reimann (2003-04 EPFP Fellow) serves as Director of Communications for the Office of K-12 Outreach in Michigan State University’s College of Education. Besides having taught high school English for ten years, Chris has worked in education reform at both the state and national levels since 1988, when he left the classroom to become education speechwriter for Governor Tom Kean of New Jersey. Chris worked for two years as a consultant to President Jim Kelly at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, then joined the Michigan Partnership for New Education (MPNE) as a special assistant to MPNE President Judith Lanier.
Before coming to the Office of K-12 Outreach, Chris served as assistant director of the Presidents Council, State Universities of Michigan, where he worked on issues such as student preparation for postsecondary study, student assessment, teacher preparation and certification, K-12/ university relations and the higher education budget. Chris is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation in education policy at MSU, where he was awarded the College of Education’s Outstanding Scholar Fellowship. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and did graduate study at Wesleyan University while a teacher.
