The Michigan Virtual University
(MVU) is a private, non-profit corporation established in April 1998 by Governor John Engler. Its mission is to meet the specific workforce development, education and training needs of Michigan businesses and industries and their current and prospective employees through the innovative use of distributed learning technologies. The
MVU board of directors includes representatives from government, industry and higher education in Michigan.

About the Detroit Regional Chamber |

The Detroit Regional Chamber works to power the economy for Southeast Michigan. Its annual Leadership Policy Conference is a summit for addressing regional, state and federal issues. The Chambers priorities include advocating federal support for I-94 upgrade as an international trade corridor and federal action to address key US/Canada border issues. The Chamber has also developed positions on such issues as Detroit's "living wage," public school governance, single business tax credits, support of cultural institutions and public transit.

About the Education Policy Fellowship Program |

The EPFP is a national program of the
Institute for Educational Leadership. The Michigan program, active since 1975, provides a forum for exploring public policy issues, linking participants to key figures who shape and influence the process, and developing new leadership skills. During their fellowship year, participants meet monthly for
leadership development activities and participate in the national Leadership Forum and the Washington Policy Seminar. The Michigan EPFP is affiliated with the College of Education at Michigan State University.
