Athletic Training at MSU
Michigan State University's Athletic Training undergraduate program involves an aggressive, immersive and experiential learning structure, blended with an academically enriched curriculum. Students are exposed to state-of-the-art philosophies, equipment and research, and will benefit from hands-on interaction with MSU varsity athletes, athletic trainers and medical professionals.
Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes. MSU's degree program prepares students to recognize, evaluate, treat, rehabilitate and manage emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Our students are offered a wide interdisciplinary base of educational and professional development to prepare them for future job opportunities in collegiate, professional, clinical, high school, military, performing arts or industrial settings.
Athletic Training Undergraduate Program in Moratorium
The Michigan State University Athletic Training program will be transitioning from a bachelor's to a master's level program. Students entering MSU as freshmen in Fall Semester 2018 will not be able to choose Athletic Training as their major preference, but are encouraged to complete a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in preparation for an Athletic Training graduate program. Answers to common questions can be found on the transition FAQs.
