In Memoriam
 

Hugo J. David, professor emeritus of teacher education, died on May 15, 2000, in Mesa, Arizona. He was 89. Dr. David received his doctorate from MSU in 1952 and served on the faculty of the Division of Education and later the College of Education from 1949 to 1977.

Mildred B. Erickson, assistant dean emeritus of Lifelong Education in the College of Education, died March 4, 2000. She was 86. Dr. Erickson was on the faculty at MSU from 1963 to 1981.

John W. Hanson, professor emeritus of education, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2001 in San Jose, Costa Rica. He was 80. Dr. Hanson joined the faculty in 1954, and among his many honors included the MSU Distinguished Teacher Award, and election to Phi Beta Kappa. He retired in 1985.

Floyd “Gerry” Parker, professor emeritus of administration and higher education and Lifelong Education Programs, passed away on June 23, 2001, in Haslett, Michigan. Dr. Parker had a distinguished 45-year career in professional education. He joined the faculty in 1957 and retired in 1981. In his memory, the Floyd G. Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established in the College of Education.
