A Day to Remember for Patriarch's Reunion Participants

It was a day of nostalgia and celebration at the College of Education in June as it welcomed back the Class of ’52 and numerous retired faculty members from generations past.

The event was the MSU Alumni Association’s annual Patriarch’s Reunion in which alumni celebrating their 50th graduating class return to campus. At the College of Education, it was a particularly special event because it coincides with its 50th anniversary.

The college hosted a reunion breakfast at Erickson Hall where the Class of ’52 had the opportunity to mingle with emeriti faculty members from the 1940s through 1990s. Dean Carole Ames welcomed guests and updated them on the many accomplishments and initiatives at the college in recent years.

The guests were also greeted with a wall display of pictures of the college over the years, including images of the faculty from the early 1950s.

The events at Erickson Hall where only part of the festivities. The alums also attended an ice cream social with President Peter McPherson and a presentation by students from Students for State. They capped off the day with some dancing to the sounds of Pete Vander Waals Big Band Orchestra.
