Desired Qualifications: Students who desire to teach this course should have:
Experience as intern in KIN 125 or equivalent.
Must have American Red Cross certification as an instructor in Responding to Emergencies or Adult CPR and Standard First Aid.
Experience in large group lecture, laboratory, and testing.
Experience in organizing large groups (attendance, record keeping, etc.)
Orientation and Training: Graduate assistants are required to attend orientation prior to the start of fall semester that includes participation in the All-University TA program. Staff development activities include participation in in-service workshops as well as policy staff meetings throughout the academic year.
Mentoring and Monitoring: Graduate assistants are observed and evaluated at least once each semester. Written and verbal feedback is provided after each observation. Copies of the written evaluation, course materials, and SIRS are kept in the graduate assistant’s file.
