Raven Jones Stanbrough is an assistant professor and the Detroit- area internship coordinator in the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University. Her teaching, research, and publications focus on literacy, culture, race, equity, and the educational and lived experiences of students of color in urban contexts. She creates and facilitates debate education programs to promote and expand the educative and creative engagement that debate offers and is committed to community and grassroots initiatives that create and sustain new ways of being, thinking, and doing. Jones Stanbrough was a Fulbright-Hayes recipient and received the Excellence in Diversity Award from Michigan State University for her outstanding efforts with promoting diversity and inclusion inside and outside of the classroom. She is also the co-founder of The Zuri Reads Initiative,
