College of Education Handbooks
The college produces handbooks for undergraduate academic programs which outline undergraduate degree and teacher certification requirements. Printed copies are available from the Student Affairs Office. Much of the information in the handbook is also available online under Academic Program Descriptions and Student Information. It is useful, however, to obtain a copy of the handbook that applies to your program and use to keep notes and record decisions about your academic program.
Individual Appointments and Group Sessions
Usually, early in the semester, you can make an appointment within a week of the time that you call. Later on, when the Schedule of Courses book is available on campus, you might have to schedule several weeks in advance. It is best to schedule with an advisor about a week prior to your computer/telephone enrollment date.
Make good use of your advisement sessions. Prior to each advisement session, be sure to review program requirements, create a list of questions, and do a preliminary planning of your schedule.
Group sessions are scheduled at several key times during your undergraduate program. Freshmen are advised in group sessions to review orientation information and to assist with second year scheduling. Students will also meet in group sessions during March of the sophomore year after admission decisions have been made. At this time program specifics, testing issues and team information will be reviewed.
