Leigh A. Hall, Ph. D. 2005, is an associate professor of literacy studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Hall's work focuses on adolescents who have difficulties comprehending subject-matter texts in school. Her specific areas of expertise include reading comprehension, identity, and adolescent literacy. Hall is the recipient of the Literacy Research Association's Early Career Award and co-author of the book Empowering Struggling Readers: Practices for the Middle Grades Classroom (Guilford, 2011).
