The Institute for the Study of Youth Sports (ISYS) at Michigan State University now offers four courses on coaching with the addition of Promoting Positive Youth Development through Sport. This course is taught by renowned sport psychology consultant, researcher, and professor, Dr. Dan Gould.

This course will help you become a transformational leader by exploring ways to facilitate the development of life skills and character in your athletes.
Coaches continue to have two pathways for registering for online graduate study in the field of coaching. First, students seeking a Master of Arts degree in Education can take the sport leadership and coaching concentration. Check out the Masters of Arts in Education.
For those students not seeking a masters degree, we continue to offer our online graduate certificate in coaching education. The program consists of three 3-semester hour courses that address legal, administrative, psychological, sociological, and physical issues as they relate to the coaching of amateur athletes. After successful completion of all three courses, a Certificate of Completion will be awarded. These courses are also transferable into graduate degree programs.
