Celebration Highlights Accomplishments of Crystal Apple Honorees

Thirty-four educators from throughout Michigan and the nation were honored at the seventh annual Crystal Apple Awards in November at the Kellogg Center
on the MSU campus.

Dr. John DiBiaggio, president of Michigan State University from 1985 to 1992, delivered the keynote address to an audience of more than 300 people at the awards ceremony sponsored by the College of Education.

The diverse group of educators honored with Crystal Apples ranged from university administrators and executives to elementary and high school teachers. Many of the honorees were from Michigan, but some traveled from as far away as California to receive their awards.

The Crystal Apple Awards was established in 1995 as a way for donors to honor educators who played a significant role in their lives and who represent excellence and commitment.

The opportunity to select a recipient of the Crystal Apple Award is a benefit to donors of the College of Education Leadership Circle. The Leadership Circle is made up of people who are dedicated to supporting the efforts of the college through annual gifts of $1,250 or more.
